A winding path, DI education, and growing up in the Bay Area. Alex is a second generation Vietnamese designer born and raised in San Jose, CA. He graduated from UC San Diego in 2016. Right now he’s working at Virta Health in San Francisco as a UX Designer, looking to make an impact in the healthcare-tech space. We talk about the winding path to getting a design job and lessons learned from that journey. We also cover how we might cultivate conversation about diversity in the workplace, what Alex’s perspective is on being Asian in his job, and how the environments where he grew up shaped his path.
